Every day in Australia, 8 babies are born with congenital heart disease (CHD). That’s one family every 3 hours whose life changes in a heartbeat. The reality is that it can happen to anyone’s child.

Sadly, every week, four precious lives are lost due to the disease. Heart Kids supports children affected by CHD from diagnosis through to adulthood. Unfortunately, there is currently no known cure. However, our community’s support can help them live the best life possible.

Last week, our team had the opportunity to make a difference
in some of these children’s lives which warmed our hearts with nostalgia and purpose.

In a competitive setting, our team divided into four groups to execute a number of tasks, which tested our communication and creativity skills to create the most Legendary Lego Masterpiece. The most original creation was awarded the Lego
Legends medals by Amie Benge, the proud mum of three-year-old Heart Kid – Zachary.

The fun was topped off with a special presentation of Lego packs to Inayah and her sister. Inayah is three years old and has battled heart disease since birth. Putting a smile on Inayah’s face by gifting her and her Heart Kids friends had the whole team feeling like legends.

“HeartKids is there to support families throughout their lifetime journey with CHD. As a community funded organisation, we are incredibly grateful to organisations like Xavier Knight for their support in helping us raise awareness of HeartKids and CHD so we can continue to help hearts in need across Australia.” Janyne Hogan State Manager  NSW ACT, HeartKids

At Xavier Knight, it’s important that our team connects to our values and purpose. This special event definitely ticked all those boxes.
