Due to continued growth, success and project wins, we are now looking for a highly experienced Drafting Manager to join our Structural team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate on a number of landmark projects in both the public and private sectors.

THE ROLE

  • Deliver high-profile projects across Sydney from concept to completion, applying and developing your technical skills to creatively tackle complex drafting and modelling problems.
  • Representing XK, you will manage and develop valuable relationships with project partners, including architects, consultants, project managers and builders.
  • Manage the creation of Revit families, parameters, and templates
  • Implement new BIM technologies and opportunities and implement these within the organisation
  • You will have opportunities to contribute to other big-picture business opportunities according to your interests and skills.

ABOUT YOU

  • Ambitious with great energy and passion for leadership and structural drafting
  • Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Engineering Drafting/Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting
  • Minimum 10 years of technical experience within an engineering consultancy
  • 8 years of experience delivering structural documentation for multiple projects using Revit
  • Advanced understanding of the 3D modelling process in Revit

As an experienced Drafting Manager, you will have demonstrated experience in the following,

People Leadership
  • Lead the professional development and engagement of the drafting team – eg. regular CPDs and regular social events
  • Manage and mentor junior-intermediate drafting team
  • Actively involved in the hiring and interviewing processes for new employees
  • Provide feedback to the drafters, setting goals and implementing career progression plans
  • Participate in continual professional development opportunities for yourself – eg. leadership courses, technical courses, etc
  • Seek innovative solutions to help further develop the capacity and skills within XK and the Drafting team
Project Delivery:
  • Manage the creation of Revit families, parameters, and templates
  • Manage the detailed structural design on select building structure projects
  • Review models and documentation produced by the team for consistency and quality
  • In conjunction with Group Leaders, manage drafting resources and allocation to projects
  • Provide your project teams with quality assurance reviews, technical guidance and support to achieve project success
  • Sound understanding of the Design Builders Practitioners regulations and requirements specific to drafting standards
Business Development
  • Lead the development, planning and delivery of a Drafting strategy that will enhance the quality of our documentation, the engagement levels of our drafting team and the satisfaction levels of our clients
  • Refine existing and establish new standards and processes to systemise and enhance the efficiency and quality of deliverables
  • Manage and develop key client relationships through the delivery of high-quality work and great client and project partner experiences
  • Maintain a leadership presence in the industry, supporting business development and discipline growth
