Façade Engineer

Due to continued growth, success and project wins, we are now looking for a highly experienced Façade Engineer to join our Façade team. About you

• Team player with great energy and passion for façade engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of façade engineering design experience within an engineering consultancy
• High attention to detail and motivation towards furthering your technical skills
• Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
• Specialised skill set focused on facade weatherproofing, condensation risk assessment, and thermal performance evaluation.

About the role

• Manage high-profile projects from concept to completion, applying and developing your technical skills to creatively tackle complex engineering problems, delivering high-quality and detailed designs
• Knowledge of Façade weatherproofing design principles, ensuring integration into effective weatherproofing solutions.
• Advanced condensation risk analysis utilizing WUFI software to inform design decisions and ensure building longevity.
• Thermal assessment proficiency, employing thermal performance modeling to optimize facade designs for energy efficiency and comfort.
• Carrying out design engineering for façade, steel, and RC structures
• Reviewing contractor shop drawings and calculations
• Attending inspections during construction, installation and fabrication on concrete and steel
• Use computer-assisted façade engineering and design software and equipment for simulation purposes and to prepare engineering design documents; Finite Element Analysis Software (Strand 7, SAP2000, etc.)
• Developing complex analysis models and preparing calculations with high precision and accuracy
• Producing technical reports and developing concepts that add value to a project
• Representing XK, you will manage and develop valuable relationships with project partners, including architects, consultants, project managers and builders.

As a Façade Engineer, you have a demonstrated experience in the following:

• • Executing detailed engineering designs specifically tailored to facade weatherproofing, condensation and thermal performance.
  • Carrying out design engineering for façade, steel, and RC structures
  • Reviewing contractor shop drawings and calculations
  • Attending inspections during construction, installation and fabrication on concrete and steel
  • ACAD, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Use computer-assisted façade engineering and design software and equipment for simulation purposes and to prepare engineering design documents; Finite Element Analysis Software (Strand 7, SAP2000, etc.)
  • Developing complex analysis models and preparing calculations with high precision and accuracy
  • Producing technical reports and developing concepts that add value to a project

New build facade performance design and specification

• • Providing advice to glazing contractors regarding facade detailing and performance
  • Conduct façade performance mock-up test unit inspection to assist clients in meeting the Australian Standards
  • Conduct independent calculation and shop drawing peer review

Building Envelope design

• • Technical due diligence assessments and design for building envelopes
  • Building weatherproofing and waterproofing

New build façade Construction

• • Site inspections and condition assessments
  • Preparation of inspection reports

Façade remediation

• • Façade replacement strategies
  • Diagnostic inspections/investigation and condition assessments
  • Structural assessments and diagnosis of existing buildings
