The restoration of a heritage milk factory, bringing it back to its original glory, with the addition of a two-storey building providing a new retail precinct to the community. Our team took on this “$1million over budget” challenge, and value-engineered the project. We developed an alternative structural solution, reducing the number of piled foundations by over 100, saving 25% in suspended slab concrete and reinforcement material. We also presented an alternative drainage strategy, leveraging existing infrastructure, reducing costs and limiting disruption to the public. By applying curiosity and thinking a little differently, our solutions enabled this project to come to life.
